VINTAGE LAWN TENNIS RACKET, DOHERTY
A fine Lawn Tennis Racket by Slazenger in good condition with patent shoulders. The stringing has at some stage been replaced with string. the horizontal stronger than the vertical.The racket is also stamped Laurence Pountrey Hill. London. Slazenger patent stringing and Patent Shoulder, 13 1/2.
The Doherty brothers were Wimbledon doubles winners in 1897, 98, 99, 1900. 01, 03,04 and 1905.
Reginald Doherty was singles Wimbledon winner in 1897, 98, 99 and 1900.
Lawrence Doherty was Wimbledon winner in 1902, 03, 04, 05 and 1906
