Vintage Eight Mallet Croquet Set By Slazenger.
A good quality Victorian Slazenger eight-mallet croquet set in original pine box, box with cast iron patent Slazenger handles with Slazenger's hexagram 'Best is Best, S & S L, Thro' the World' trade mark logo. Heads of the mallets are made from boxwood, all marked 'Slazenger, LONDON', and are fitted with ash handles which have coloured rings from one to four in red and blue for the different players. To complete the set there are eight boxwood balls with the same number of coloured rings to match the mallets, ten bent metal hoops, two ornately turned posts, one painted with two sets of numbers 1,2,3,4 in red and blue bands, and a metal hoop gauge.
A wonderful 8 mallet garden croquet set in excellent condition with brass retail plaque 'William Robson, Furnishing, Ironmonger, Albany Buildings, Southport'.
Mallets are 96 cm in length.
