Colonial Polo Photographs.
A very rare series of sepia toned late Victorian polo photographs. Each photo is in a plain white mount, there are pencil inscriptions to the reverse of the photos. The first photo is of a group of eight gentlemen; Captain Arthur Bruit seated far left, titled 'Secunderabad 1895', photographers' credit Lala Deen Dayal & Sons, Secunderabad, Deccan. The second is 'Kashmir Polo Tournament Shield 1903', Captain Arthur Bruit seated left, photographers' credit Holmes. The third photo is of a polo match in play at the Club and Polo Ground at Gulmarg in Kashmir. The final photo is of a group of polo players from a 1903 polo tournament with the large trophy on the table in the middle of the shot.
