Green Leather Fishing Record Book
Green Leather Fishing Record Book
Earl De Grey Fishing Book.
A wonderful anglers record book with green leather cover, gilded pages, gilt title 'FISHING BOOK' in a hard cloth covered box. The fishing journal was printed by A. Webster & Company, London, and was first used in 1910, only 3 pages have been used with the last entry in 1914. If you're a keen angler, or know one, then this is a stylish way of keeping track of everything that has been caught. There are columns for 'Date, River, No. of fish, Weight of largest, Flies, Wind and weather, Remarks'. Memories of the riverbank are precious, so looking back over old fishing records will help bring forgotten days alive again. The front page has printed on it 'The Earl De Gray Fishing Book, printed and Published by A. Webster & Company, Royal Red Book Office, 60, Piccadilly, W', whilst the cover of the box is printed in gilt 'A. Webster & Compy. by Appointment to Queen Alexandra, 43 Dover Street, W'.
The majority of records are from the Erriff river in Ireland that flows through County Mayo.
