Hardy The "Rogue River" 10ft Palakona Fishing Rod.
A beautifully 3 piece 10' split cane fly fishing rod by Hardy of Alnwick. The rod is in very good condition with the registration number H14308, dating it to 1958. It has the inscription spiralling around the rod, 'The "Rogue River" Palakona Regd Trade Mark'. The rod is a 3 piece rod with the original spare tip, canvas bag, bronze ferrules, suction joints, cork handle with alloy screw reel fitting. Hardy were the first manufacturer to make split cane rods in hexagonal form as The Hardy 'Palakona' rod.
Measurements of the four pieces, handle 1m 6cm - 2nd piece 1m 4cm- tip No.1 1m 2cm - tip no.2 1m 2cm.

The rod has been designed to deal with the large Steel-head trout caught in the Rogue River. It is capable of casting a long line, mastering heavy, hard fighting fish, and is wonderfully light to fish with.
