The Wimbledon Tennis Racket By Bussey
George Bussey Lawn Tennis Racket.
A lawn tennis racket by Bussey, 'Wimbledon'. A nice ash frame with chamfer and concave wedge. The wedge is embossed in gilt 'Wimbledon, Hexagonal, 3' with the Bussey logo 'GEO.G.BUSSEY&Co.' at the top of the handle. The racket has the original red shoulder wrapping, two central double main strings, white vertical gut strings, red horizontal strings and three rows of black trebling to the top and bottom. Handle stamped 13 ½ one side and has the original leather butt cap.
George Bussey was a large London manufacturer of high quality equipment for sports and games.
