Hardy "The De-luxe" Palakona Fishing Rod.
A beautifully 3 piece 8' split cane fly fishing rod by Hardy of Alnwick. The rod is in very good condition with the registration number E35180 (possibly dating it to 1935). It has the inscription spiralling around the rod, 'The De luxe Rod. Palakona Regd'. The rod is a 3 piece rod with the original spare tip, canvas bag and alloy rod tube. The rod is with burgundy close whipping, bronze ferrules, suction joints, wood stoppers, varnished cork handle with alloy screw reel fitting. The reel screw fitting bears the Hardy's details and a Royal appointment seal with BRIT. PAT No. 196216.

Palakona is the trade name given by Hardy's to their best quality, tonkin bamboo rods.
