Hardy "The Pope" 10ft Palakona Fishing Rod.
A 2 piece 10' split cane fly fishing rod by Hardy of Alnwick, The Pope. It is in fair condition with 'Lockfast' joint, cork handle, fullopen bridge rings and screw grip alloy band reel fitting with reversible Spear and Button and stamped with the Pat No. 20675/22 and the registration number E11890, dating it to 1925 - 31. The 10' long fly fishing rod is in the original Hardy's canvas bag, with label and has the black inscription spiralling around the shaft, 'The Pope Rod. Palakona Regd'. Hardy were the first manufacturer to make split cane rods in hexagonal form as The Hardy 'Palakona' rod.

Measurements of the two pieces, handle 1m 54cm - 2nd piece 1m 54cm.
